Say 'NO' to Barisan Nasional

According to Barisan Nasional manifesto 2008 from education aspect, stated to safeguard the position of national-type schools (SJK). This made people wonder when the discussion is to create more national-type schools and not only safeguard the position of such schools.

Before every general election, the Barisan Nasional government will announce special allocations for Chinese and Tamil primary schools, approve a few token applications for relocation of such schools, or announce the approval for the building of a handful of new Chinese and Tamil schools in order to fish for votes.

MAPOIS

Isn’t building of a handful of new Chinese and Tamil schools able to fulfill of lacking of about 136 Chinese primary schools?

MAPOIS

According to the statistics provided by Dong Jiao Zong, there were 1,346 Chinese Primary Schools in 1970. However, by 2007, only 1,291 were left. In the meantime, the number of students in Chinese schools has increased from 439,681 to 645,669, an increase of 205,988 students.

While the corruption aspect, pledge to “continue to enforce anti-corruption measures without fear or favor”. This is what Barisan Nasional did in 2004 manifesto where it declared “an all-out campaign against corruption, without fear or favor” and to “promote a culture of zero-tolerance for corruption”. However, today, Malaysia’s ranking in the Transparency International Corruption Perception Index (CPI) has worsened than Pak Lah became Prime Minister in 2003, with mega scandals, be like RM 4.6 billions Port Klang Free Trade Zone Scandal.

The Barisan Nasional also failed to deliver its promise on lower crime rates during the 2004 general election. Whereby, the crime index in Malaysia rose by a record 45% between 2003 and 2007 with violent crimes increasing by 119%.

MAPOIS

Hence, this coming general election is a good opportunity for all Malaysian to make a change, that is, by voting opposition, we do not want Barisan Nasional to stupefy us. Together deny the Barisan Nasional’s two-thirds majority.
