The Political Crisis in Perak

What a shame on state assemblypersons of Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi (Behrang), Mohd Osman Jailu (Changkat Jering) and Hee Yit Fong (Jelapang) who have resigned from their parties and become ‘BN friendly’ independent representatives. Without the party ticket of their former parties, will they be elected as representative for their respective state assembly seats in the last general-election?

mapois

What being so disappointed them until they make way for BN to rob the mandate of Pakatan Rakyat given by the people of Perak? Maybe there’s an internal crisis within their former parties that the people do not know, but to use the people mandate haphazardly for just to revenge to their former parties indeed politically-ungentle and -immature.

Meanwhile, the return of Bota assemblyman, Datuk Nasarudin Hashim to UMNO after few days with Pakatan Rakyat, reflected him has no political stand. Nasarudin is just an opportunist instead of a sincere representative.

If the involvement of money-politics in those cases is true, it will be even worse for Jamaluddin, Osman, Yit Fong and Nasarudin. And they must not be re-elected in the next election as they can be easily bribed to betray the people. And it is also proved that they are not sincere in serving the people of their constituencies.

Besides, the refusal of the Election Commission (EC) to recognize the decision of the Perak Speaker, V. Sivakumar on the vacancy of Behrang and Changkat Jering state assembly seats and to hold by-election in both seats, reflected the body siding with BN.

mapois

It is no business of the Election Commission to act and usurp the jurisdiction of the courts to dispute the Speaker’s decision – as any such legal challenge should come from Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu if they want to challenge the legality of their resignations from their respective state assembly seats. – Lim Kit Siang

The recommendation by the DAP secretary-general, Lim Guan Eng that the anti-hopping law is necessary with the condition that allowed elected representative who party hops to re-contest the seat in a by-election, is a perfect protocol to resolve such situation.

mapois

To end the political crisis in Perak, we support the dissolution of Perak state assembly and to hold the state election.

mapois

However, if the formation of BN-led Perak state-government becomes reality, it does not stand that the people of Perak accept BN, as it was through an immoral and dirty means.
