Bangunlah Bangsa Malaysia, Bangkitlah Bangsa Malaysia!

Most Asian countries have been realized on their political system, be like People’s Republic of China (PRC) which has been ignored communism in their economy system since 30 years ago, under the premiership of Deng Xiaoping. They believed that the opening-up system will bring their country forward. And now, the advantages of the opening-up system had been proved to us.

Besides, Korea which has been separated into two, since 55 years ago, due to the contradiction of their political ideology, now, the relation between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) (North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea) getting recovered. This resulted from their leaders’ efforts who ignoring the politics elements. The using of participation name of ‘Korea’ by both of them, clearly show their efforts on uniting their country.

In Indonesia, under the leadership of the President Suharto before, many kinds of discriminatory laws have been passed in order to against its Chinese citizens, such as the using of Chinese-language which has been banned. However, in 1998, under the leadership of Abdurrahman Wahid, the discriminatory laws have been abolished and Chinese culture is encouraged, together to enrich Indonesian cultural. The Chinese New Year has been announced as a national holiday of Indonesia.

Today, Singapore is in front of us, with a free of bribery and power abuses administration. And this is not because Singapore a small country but it is because of their strict system unlike Malaysia who considered that corruption is common. Money politics has been the way of life of our politicians, said the former Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew. In fact, our country system has state government and therefore, the bigness of Malaysia is not a reason for the Barisan Nasional to corrupt or power abuse.

While observing countries around us going forward, keeping on asking in the mind, when Malaysia will make a political reformation which highly filled with racial discrimination, not free from corruption and power abuses? Even though Malaysia is said as has general election for every 5 years where the leader of the country will be elected by the people, but the election system in our country is not free and fair, the majority of the Barisan Nasional is not free with their wicked tactics.

However, I believe our country will be better than certain countries. But, do we compare with the worse ones when we have a huge potential to be an advanced country like South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.

I feel so sad when somebody said that if you feel that Malaysia is not good, then, you should move to other country. In my opinion, it is not relevant because Malaysia is my homeland, I born here, I living here, I am a pure Malaysian citizen and therefore, I am right to voice out my view, right to criticize the Barisan Nasional government who failed to perform good governance.

However, the choice of the nations on political party is more important. Therefore, I really hope that the people will give an opportunity to those political parties who struggle for all races, be like Democratic Action Party (DAP) and People’s Justice Party (PKR) in order to reform our national political system.
